What if I don't want to be Baptized
We believe that the Holy Spirit leads the entire process. No one will coerce you to be Baptized until you are ready, an if you are never ready that is OK. You are loved and respected.
Here is a video of an interview with Yu Yi "Becky" Braswell. Yu Yi joined us through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism through a process, which is as old as the Church of Christ herself. It is a process called the Catechumenate, which is a process of permitting those who have never been Baptized into the Church of Christ, or who are completely unchurched in the Christian Faith to be able to ask the questions they need to ask about the Church and Christian Discipleship. Then when they are led by the Holy Spirit they many ask to be Baptized or to renew and Affirm their Baptism from years ago in their lives. In short it is an Internship in the Christian Faith. In this Interview with Yu Yi, she shares her experience at Advent in the Catechumenate, which led to her Baptism on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025.
